Notebook created by Ernest Watkins and dedicated to Fred Huling, Art Gray, and W. S. Kettering who were all significant in his life in many ways during his own athletic endeavors and professional career.
Watkins was from Pueblo and played Football at Centennial High School in 1926, and excelled in track in 1925 and 1927 when he ran hurdles winning many awards and first places in state meet. He ran track at Colorado State Teachers College in 1927. In 1936 he started coaching in recreation program at Central High School as Freshman Assistant Football coach moving to coach of the track team in 1939. He was appointed as Junior Softball and Basketball Commissioner for the City of Pueblo.
