Scope and Contents

The collection contains report drafts, field notes, photographic prints, 35mm slides, and correspondence documenting the recording of rock art at the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site in southern Colorado. The majority of materials were created or collected in the early 1980s. The slides exhibit a multitude of various examples of rock art panels found in the Pinon Canyon Maneuver Site. Biographical / Historical

Sally J. Cole is the author of the 2009 book, "Legacy on Stone: Rock Art of the Colorado Plateau and Four Corners Region", professional reports, and articles, primarily focused on rock art in Colorado and the Southwest. She has lead research projects across this region for more than thirty-five years. She has a M.A. in anthropology with an archaeology emphasis.

.89 Cubic Feet (5 archival boxes and 1 oversized materials folder) : The collection is comprised primarily of 35mm photographic slides and final typed manuscript drafts. Some correspondence, sketches, and notes on letter-sized paper are also included.
